General Notes

In 1928 Adolphe Valette left Manchester and moved permanently to Blace in France and lived in the house he inherited following the death of his mother. Towards the end of his life he produced a large number of paintings of Blace and the Beaujolais region. There are many views of Salles, Chateney and the villages and residences in the surrounding region and many of them, like this were painted en plein aire.
