Fred Cuming is a subtle colourist who specialises in Landscapes in Britain and on the continent. He trained at the Sidcup School of Art, and after National Service attended the Royal College of Art. He was elected RA in 1974. He took part in many mixed exhibitions and has had a string of hugely successful one man shows.
He was joint winner of the Grand Prix Contemporary Art Award, Monte Carlo in 1977 and the Sir Brimsley Ford award , NEAC, in 1986. His work is in a number of British Galleries including the National Museum of Wales. His work was also featured in the RA Summer show in 2001.
