Adolphe Valette supplemented his income by working as a commercial illustrator. This is an original painting which Valette produced for Marie Brizard & Roger to use in their company advertising. Marie Brizard et Roger International is a French alcoholic beverage company founded in 1755 and is famous for its anisette cordials. It is based in Ivry-sur-Seine in France.
