General Notes

This sketch is being auctioned with all the proceeds going to BBC Children in Need. It's a 9 x 6 sketch of the Abraham Lincoln Statue in Lincoln Square, Manchester by acclaimed Salford artist Harold Riley. It is one of 4 preparatory sketches produced for Harold Riley's large mixed media work Statue in the Square. It was originally commissioned in 1987 by partners of Pannell Kerr Forster in Manchester for the opening of their office in Lincoln Square, and there was a study for each season.

The drawing has been donated by a collector of Harold Riley's work and Harold has signed the work and fully supports its sale for Children in Need.

The online auction will run until noon on the 30th November. The process for bidding is as follows:

    Sold for £625, a donation for this amount has been made to Children in Need.
