Leon Morrocco b 1942

Scottish artist with Italian roots, son of Alberto Morrocco. Leon Morrocco trained as a painter at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee, Slade School of Art in London and Edinburgh College of Art. His work skillfully evokes the sunlit colors of tranquil moods of the Mediterranean climate and landscape. In 1992 Morrocco moved to London and has since exhibited in Scotland, Australia and London. He has worked as a lecturer at Edinburgh College and Glasgow School of Art and has also taught in Australia. His paintings can be found in many private and public collections including the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, Leeds Art Gallery, the Australian Government Collection and the collection of HRH Princess Margaret.
