General Notes

This pastel is from the collection of Sir Michael Caine. The famous actor has owned a number of Lowry works over the years and we sold one of his Lowry drawings in 2007.
The subject of this pastel is Astbury Church near Congleton, it still looks the same now as it did in 1920. Lowry also did another pastel in the same year of the front of the church.
