3rd Paragraph Reads....
Sometimes Lowy's figure drawings were completely from his imagination, such as a drawing that
he did for Leslie Anthony, who described how this came about. During the course of a conversation at
the Seaburn Hotel one day, the artist began to draw on the flyleaf of a catalogue of the L.S.Lowry retrospective exhibition then on show at Sunderland Museum and Art Gallery. Holding a pencil in one hand and a ballpoint in the other, he changed them over as required, and never mentioned what he was doing. When completed,
he gave the drawing to his companion who was overwhelmed with surprise and delight at the unexpected gift.
