The present work was given by Monty Bloom on the occasion of a home visit in the winter of 1968. Bloom made the visit to view a number of fine Russian silver pieces which had belonged to the family, including an Imperial sword, to purchase for his own collection. In return Bloom offered two L.S. Lowry works by way of exchange and the present work was selected
