General Notes
This painting features a 17th century corn mill on the Dunham Massey Estarenear Altrincham, which is owned by the National Trust. It was converted to a sawmill in 1860. A waterwheel still drives machinery including a frame saw, band saw, circular saw, boring machine and a lathe.
