General Notes
The late HRH, Prince Philip was the first chancellor of the University of Salford and held the post between 1967 and 1990. In the early 1970s he agreed for Harold Riley to paint his portrait and the finished 99cm x 74cm oil on canvas is now in the collection of University of Salford.
This work is probably one of several studies for the final painting.
